Your name?
Bryn
If possible, your age?
Almost 16.
When did you start drawing?
I drew when I was little, for class and such, but I thought it was boring. I started again when my sister did, because I wanted to do something she was interested in too, and I slowly started to love what I was doing.
Which hand do you use for drawing?
My right.
Which is easier to draw - male or female?
I like drawing girls more. Curvy lines are a lot of fun! I'm slowly starting to get into drawing muscles though. Haha!
Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Long hair is easier to draw, but I realize that I do draw short hair a lot.
Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
The left. I actually have to force myself to draw people facing the right every now and then because I'm afraid of people calling me out on it. (No one has yet though, so thank goodness.)
Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Drawing them slightly tilted is a lot easier for me, but I've started to like drawing directly on so I can draw noses more. (Haha, I love drawing huge noses now. It's so weird.)
What do you have problems in drawing?
I tend to draw people in the same position all the time when I don't have a image in mind. I'm not creative in posing, and it makes me really sad. (I'm very good at drawing muscles in that position now though...)
What do you like to draw?
Dancing. I like drawing fluid movement.
Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
I don't have the means to draw digitally, so it's purely traditional right now.
Where do you start drawing from?
I start from the head. Whenever I try drawing from somewhere else, the neck is always too short. (But everything else is fine?)
What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
That I suck. xDD
Really, it's that I do the same poses, I shade from the same place, I have horrible anatomy, and all my people tend to look similar. I'm working on it though!
Any tips for coloring/shading?
Don't listen to my tips on coloring and shading. (I'm actually really good at shading faces. xD It's one of the things about my art that I'm really proud of.)
How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
I really only do sketches right now, because I'm practicing. sketches, for me, usually take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. My most recent actual pieces usually take about 4 to 5 hours. (Split up over time, because it's usually in a class.)
What music do you listen to while you draw?
It depends. Recently, I've been listening to soundtracks for musicals and movies. 'Into the Woods', 'Star Trek XI', and 'Stardust' have been used the most right now.
How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Minutes, sir. Minutes. (I have ideas all the time, it's just a matter of making them look how I want.)
Your favorite drawing utensils?
MECHANICAL PENCILS. I'm collecting one in every color. Ever.
Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Gray. Graphite gray. Because I use pencils. >>
Your favorite style(s)?
Not a particular style, but I love a certain artist. His name is Michael Turner, and his art made me want to change over from really an anime style to a more 'realistic cartoon' style. And I'm working hard to develop my vision. (RIP Micheal.)
What kind of artist are you aiming for?
I want to be an artist who makes people happy with my art.
AND FINISHED. If you do this, link me! I'd love to see other people's responses! (I'm looking at you, *ThimbleBostitch and ~clue-fiddle xDD)
